Joe Ventola is the founder of our small firm and the Principal of Modus Management. After obtaining undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Metropolitan State College of Denver, and working in a variety of careers from Animal Technologist to Restaurant Manager, Joe landed in a government career with the City and County of Denver. As an environmental investigator, program manager and, later, the City's ombudsman for clients of the city's development agencies, Joe gained an in-depth understanding of the City's design review processes. An article by the Colorado Statesman once called Joe Ventola the City's "Answer Man". Seven years with the City was long enough for Joe to realize that the government review process was getting worse, not better. Having obtained a Master degree in Business Administration, Joe struck out to create a new company based on the principle of helping inexperienced business people obtain appropriate government approvals for their projects. Two failed City Council bids in the last five years have not deterred Joe from wanting to make the system better from within: As of the revision date at the bottom of this page, Joe intends to run for Denver City Council again in early 2003. Joe Ventola has hosted talk radio programs on KHOW radio in Denver, filling in for Troubleshooter Tom Martino, and briefly hosting his own Saturday afternoon show called Survive the System in which he discussed subjects from obtaining small-business loans to the new Denver football stadium. Joe Ventola supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado, Muscular Dystrophy Association, The Pegasus Program, and a wide variety of other charities with his time and money.
