Key Benefits
DiscussionThere are two sides of Code Analysis. The first, sometimes called "Value Engineering" identifies materials, systems, and construction methods that exceed minimum building code requirements. Our plan reviewers will identify these and suggest alternatives for the owner or architect, and leave the decision to you whether to continue to use the higher standard. The second, and opposite, part of Code Analysis is to identify areas of deficiency with regard to minimum code requirements. If caught early, these deficiencies can be corrected by the architect before submittal to the building department, dramatically decreasing review times. We also defend our recommendations. If we advise you to increase or decrease certain standards to meet building codes, and the building department disagrees with our application of the code, then we will represent your interests with the building official at no additional charge. In a select group of Colorado cities (which is growing all the time!) our code analysis and review take the place of the building department review, so you can get a permit without the delay of re-review by the building official. |
