| We are currently hiring Class A and non-CDL Pickup and Delivery drivers for work with our FedEx Ground contract. The following general information applies to both positions; for job specifics and application procedures click on the appropriate link to the left. Modus drivers/couriers wear FedEx uniforms and drive vehicles with FedEx logos on the side, but it is important to understand the FedEx does NOT employ our drivers. Those uniforms and vehicles belong to Modus Transportation, Inc. and Modus alone determines pay rates, benefits, and working conditions. Generally a driver's day is scheduled for ten hours or slightly less. Modus pays an hourly rate plus time and one half for hours over 40 per week. The work is physical, and not for everyone. But the day goes by quickly and all of our long-term employees enjoy the work and environment. Modus employees are NOT responsible for any job-related expenses, and we do NOT treat our employees as sub-contractors. Full employee benefits are provided including health/dental/vision insurance; work compensation insurance; unemployment insurance; social security and Medicare payments; retirement plan; vacation/sick leave; paid holidays; uniforms and allowances; and various perks such as outings and gifts. Our fleet was primarily purchased new over the past three years, and is well-maintained. We take safety seriously and want drivers to respect our equipment and their own welfare so we encourage you to let us know when there is any equipment problem that needs to be addressed. We have a variety of written policies that will be presented to you during your orientation period and we want employees to create ideas of their own for implementation. In our small company you can reach the 'boss' any time of day or night to discuss a concern.
